I’ve written a new Foy story. This one is different. It is set in the year 2020. Foy is 60 years old. It’s my first time to try and write about him in the future. One of the reasons I haven’t wanted to do that is it shuts down my options. Every time I write a story I box Foy in a bit more. Now it is clear that he will not return to the priesthood, at least not when he is 60. Who knows what might happen after that.
In this story, perhaps 15 years after he left the ministry, Foy has been asked to preach in a church somewhere. He opens the sermon in a very unique way.
